Member Spotlight: Clermont Central and a love for the game

Clermont Central Soccer Association (CCSA) is one of the younger leagues in Ohio, but don’t let that fool you!

Founded in 2012, it has seen rapid growth since its inception. CCSA welcomes players from all around Clermont County, Ohio.

We decided to have a chat with them to find out more about where the league is headed!

So, tell us about the league.

Founded in 2012, CCSA is a non-profit 501c3, educational and recreational soccer organization serving the communities of Amelia, Batavia, Bethel, Owensville, Felicity, New Richmond, Mt. Orab, Hamersville and Williamsburg. Our ultimate goal is to help the kids in all of our communities learn and love the game of soccer.

CCSA takes pride in being the governing organization for 8 of our member districts, made up of the communities listed above. In Fall 2024, between the districts of Batavia, Bethel, Clermont Northeastern, Felicity, New Richmond, West Clermont, Western Brown and Williamsburg, we had over 1,400 athletes and that number continues to grow. Each of our districts are required to operate their own governing board and to represent their respective districts on the CCSA league board.

Each of our districts works hard year-round to ensure that both our Fall and our Spring seasons run without a hitch. Over the past several seasons, we have started an All Star Game for our athletes to participate in and showcase their skills. We are constantly working on ideas to improve our program each and every season.

What kinds of programs do you offer?

CCSA’s member districts each offer U6 through U14 teams, with Batavia, Clermont Northeastern, and Western Brown also offering a Toddler League. Our teams train at their respective districts throughout the week and matches are held at various district locations on weekends. In our Fall season, each team is guaranteed 10 games with the season concluding in a 2-loss and out tournament. Our All Star Game is also held at the end of the Fall Season. Our Spring season consists of an 8 game guarantee with a 1-loss and out tournament.

In addition, we train and employ our own referees to uphold the laws of the game throughout our league.

What values does your organization have?

Our goal at CCSA is to instruct and train players and coaches in the development and improvement of their capabilities. We teach the importance of fair play, building good character and good sportsmanship. We welcome all athletes – from brand new kids who have never played soccer before to experience athletes who play(ed) in the Select/Club world.

Our program is 100% run by volunteers. All of our board members and our member district’s board members and coaches are volunteers who love the sport and love to teach our athletes the wonderful game of soccer.

Why is CCSA a member of OSA?

Without the support from OSA, our soccer programs would be lost. Our board members have so much on their plates already with working full time jobs, having families and volunteering for the program that adding the worry of trying to find the best risk resources or training programs is daunting. OSA provides all of that for us.

From our coaches completing their Risk Management trainings on the OSA platform to keeping all of our athlete information in one place, OSA makes it so easy for our program to run smoothly. They are always there to answer our questions and provide us with the most up-to-date information that we may need to stay in compliance.

Join CCSA!

Our member organizations are always welcoming new athletes during their registration periods. Our Spring registrations have ended for the season, but Fall registration will open in late May/early June. Member district information can be found at ccsasoccer.org.
