Chanka “Ken” Baldeosingh, 77, of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away on February 9, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones, after a battle with esophageal cancer.
Ken was born in Trinidad, West Indies. He came to the United States to further his education and was a Graduate of the Academy of Aeronautics in New York City. He later moved to Dayton, Ohio with his wife, Sandy, to work as Model Builder/R&D for General Motors/Delphi. In 1973, he helped establish the Huber Heights Soccer League and spread the program throughout the Dayton area. In 1974, he found his true passion; soccer refereeing.
His love of soccer would provide him with the opportunity to travel as a referee and administrate at the highest levels of the game. Several of his greatest achievements were induction into the United States Adult Soccer Association Hall of Fame in 2011, the Ohio Soccer Hall of Fame in 2010, recipient of the Pat Smith Award in 2006, and was named as one of the Top 100 Soccer Leaders in Ohio by Major League Soccer.
Ken served on the USSF Referee Committee board for several decades. He was known for his dedication to mentoring and growing the next generation of referees. He also served on USASA Referee Committee board, Region II Refereed Administrator, and as Ohio South State Referee Administrator. He played vital roles amongst the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association, Miami Valley Youth Soccer Association, National Soccer Coaches Association of America and Ohio South Youth Soccer Association. The standards in all areas of soccer in Ohio have been raised as a result.

Ken is survived by his wife, Sandra; son Ryan Baldeosingh; daughter and son-in-law Vidia & Chad Price and grandson Braylen Price.
