As the US Youth Soccer National League P.R.O. season draws to a conclusion with the final stop in Arizona, the #ROADtoDISNEY for the US Youth Soccer National Championships becomes more clear.
With the Boys Weekend just ended, FC Evolution North B05 (Cleveland) secured their place in Orlando at the National Championships this summer. The team put on a show, going undefeated in their group, winning all seven matches, and scoring a total of forty-two (42) goals along the way. They conceded goals only twice.

In addition, TFA G08 Elite (Cincinnati) has also qualified to play in Orlando. The team went 4-2-1 in National League play. Given a three-way tie for second place in the group, several tiers of tiebreakers came into play, which allowed TFA G08 Elite to finish in third and an automatic qualifying spot. Since the 14U Girls only have four groups, according to National League officials the top three teams in each group advance to make up the twelve qualifying teams to Nationals.
They now join the following teams from Ohio who have also qualified for this summer’s National Championships, bringing the total to five:
- FC Evolution North B05 (Cleveland)
- TFA G08 Elite (Cincinnati)
- Ohio Galaxies FC 03B Elite (Dayton)
- CUP 04B Gold (Cincinnati)
- GTFC Impact G08 Premier (Toledo)
Several other boys teams were in action in Arizona as well, including two more FC Evolution North sides (B06 & B07) and TFA B03 Elite.
The FC Evolution North B06 team went into the weekend knowing they would have to essentially win out to qualify for the National Championships. It proved to be a stern task, as they faced two of the eventual top three teams in the group, but was a valuable learning opportunity in the end. This was their first time playing in National League.
Congratulations to the B06 in their first venture into the National League. Competing in a very tough group, a 1-5-1 record was mixed with some hard lessons at this level. A little bit of luck, we could have won a couple more games, but the experience was invaluable.

FC Evolution North B07 were in similar shoes, and although they won their first match down in the desert, were unable to secure any additional points in the remaining two. They finish with a respectable 3-4 record.
Congratulations to our B07 in National League, a 3-4 record in a division that was very even across the board. A valuable experience that should propel the boys into the Spring Regional Leagues.

Finally, TFA B03 Elite (Cincinnati) seemed to struggle in the heat and were unable to secure a first win in the group, but it didn’t stop them from having a good experience overall.

The US Youth Soccer National League provides the top league competition in USYS and is comprised of three areas of competition: National League Conference, National League P.R.O., and National League Showcase Series. Ohio teams participate in the Great Lakes Conference (GLC), the National League Conference for our area, and are accepted into both GLC and NL P.R.O. based on results earned the season prior. The Ohio Soccer State League serves as the qualifying league to enter GLC. USYS recently added a new top tier to this structure called Elite 64, of which several Ohio clubs have already joined.
The next and final National League event is the upcoming Girls Weekend in Arizona, where several teams are poised to secure their place in Orlando in the summer. Stay tuned for more!
