GORDON HENDERSON
OSA Chief Executive Officer
After a highly decorated career as a Division 1 college soccer coach, Gordon Henderson arrived in Ohio in 2009 to assume the position of Director of Coaching. A reputation of innovation and leadership followed, and Henderson oversaw substantial growth in all business operations for Ohio South. Henderson was appointed Executive Director in 2017 and continued that upward trajectory for the organization. In 2020, Henderson was assigned an integral role in the merger between Ohio South and Ohio North Youth Soccer and helped form Ohio Soccer Association, which was finalized in December 2021. Henderson was appointed Chief Executive Officer to oversee the new entity.
The mission for OSA is to redefine the purpose of a modern-day state association, with core values centered on ‘supporting, inspiring and growing soccer by unlocking the potential within every community’. This has led to a growth in not only membership, but staffing levels, three offices statewide and a dedicated member services department. Continued investment in OSA’s membership continues to this day.
Henderson has a B.Sc. (with distinction) Physical Education, M.A. Education, and a U.S. Soccer ‘A’ coaching license, which gives him a unique perspective on how coaching soccer, education, player development, club & league development, and core business practices all interact. He was inducted into the Idaho State University Sports Hall of Fame in 2022.
Gordon and his wife Lisa have two children, Cameron and Ailee.
