Background checks are required for the following adults, regardless of involvement with competitive or recreational soccer;
- Coaches and Soccer Trainers
- Board Members of Leagues and Clubs
- Club Administrators, Team Administrators and Team Managers
- Tournament Organizers
- Athletic Trainers
- Organizational Employees who may have the opportunity to have direct and unmonitored access to minors
Background checks are good for up to two years and typically take up to 5 business days to complete. Length of time does not imply issues with your background check. In addition, there is no longer a printable certificate when you have submitted for a background check.
Background checks from other providers or employers are not valid for risk approval with Ohio Soccer Association. You must submit a background check through the Ohio Soccer Association provider (JDP via Players Health).
For a competitively affiliated adults (coach, board member, admin, etc.), the cost of the check will be $18, payable at time of registration.
For recreational affiliated adults (coaches, board members, admins, etc.), OSA absorbs the cost of the background check. You will need to use a code which has been provided to your league by OSA to negate the cost.
