Overview
OSA is committed to the safety of all individuals who participate in its programs and sanctioned activities. To help protect these individuals, background checks are required for the following Adult Participants, for both competitive and recreational OSA members.
- Organization Board Members, Officers, and Directors
- Organizational Employees and Independent Directors
- Coaches and Trainers
- Team Managers and Club Administrators
- Tournament Directors
- Adult TOPSoccer Buddies
- Athletic Trainers
- Referees
- eSports Moderators
- Adult Athletes
Due to OSA’s scope and criteria, background checks from other providers, organizations, employers, etc. cannot be accepted. All Adult Participants must submit an OSA background check for risk approval through their OSA risk account.
An OSA background check is required every two (2) years and can take an average of 3-5 business days to process, pending the 7-year address (county) history search. However, during the months of July, August, and September, background checks may take an average of 7-14 business days to process.
- Competitive Adult Participants: Background checks are $18. Contact your club for more information, including instructions each seasonal year.
- Grassroots (Rec) Adult Participants: OSA absorbs the cost of background checks for its grassroots. Contact your league for a discount code to use, including instructions, each seasonal year.
JD Palatine (JDP) is OSA’ background check provider.
