OSA announces formation of new Club v Club league

MAINEVILLE, Ohio (May 9, 2023) – Ohio Soccer Association (OSA) is excited to announce the formation of a new Ohio Club v Club league for the 2023-24 season.

This fall will mark the inaugural season for the Ohio Club v Club league, a platform for 10U-12U boys’ and girls’ teams from like-minded clubs. The league will place its emphasis on several key factors including established club standards, player development, coaching behavior, referee development, and sideline etiquette. The season will span the entire year (August – May/June) and include five play dates.

The founding members of the Ohio Club v Club league are Cincinnati United Premier, Club Ohio, GTFC Impact, Team Challenger North, Team Challenger South, and TFA Cincinnati.

“We are pleased to be included as a founding member of this exciting new platform which allows us to continue the Club v Club infrastructure into our younger ages,” said Scott Bower (Boys) and Jon Lipsitz (Girls), Cincinnati United Directors of Soccer. “We look forward to the enhanced club development and education amongst our families, players, and teams for both boys and girls in CU (10U) and CUP (11U-12U).”

Oliver Condell, Executive Director of Coaching for Team Challenger FC South, shares in the excitement:

“Team Challenger FC South is thrilled to be part of this inaugural Club v Club league alongside like-minded clubs to better serve our player’s development. We look forward to participating in a platform with league play that’s beneficial for our players and logistically convenient, rather than for the sake of playing and playing in a league. I love that this league takes the pressure off the players with no league standings and that the clubs involved see the necessity of removing this pressure so players can grow.”
