Member Spotlight: Team Challenger FC

In this Member Spotlight, we’re headed to the Cleveland area to take a closer look at Team Challenger FC.

Team Challenger FC was founded in 2007 in an effort to bring together the best players in each age group so they could continue developing in a challenging environment. Since then, they have been consistent in providing a platform for the best players in Northeast Ohio. Team Challenger FC consists of two branches/locations, Team Challenger FC North (Cleveland) and Team Challenger FC South (Medina/Akron). The club growth philosophy since Day 1 has been “Quality over Quantity”, because “we believe in being different than the status quo.”

What kinds of programs do you offer?

Team Challenger FC offers soccer and futsal programming for players in the form of team training, individual training, camps, friendly matches, league games, tournaments, showcases and international trips.

What is the primary focus of your club?

The primary focus is continued growth and development of all our players and teams. Ball mastery, individual skills, tactical knowledge, teamwork and determination is the cornerstone of our program. We firmly believe that serious and skilled players must compete at the highest level possible in order to test themselves and continue to improve. Therefore, our teams are formed with players of similar abilities and so not every player that attends a tryout gets a roster spot. Accepted players usually exhibit a solid foundation of skill, understanding, coachability, competitiveness and athleticism. It is essential and required that all players within the TCFC program must strive for continuous improvement.

What values does your organization have?

It is our belief that high-level training and competition helps our players develop the discipline and commitment necessary to excel now and in the future. Continued physical fitness, mental toughness, tactical understanding, self-comfort & confidence, building and maintaining relationships and learning life’s lessons are all very important aspects of our end result. We believe soccer should be enjoyable and we strive to provide a positive yet demanding environment for all players and hope that we can achieve our goals through the combined efforts of the coaches, parents, and players.

Why is Team Challenger a member of OSA?

We enjoy participating in OSA because it gives many of our players a solid pathway to compete against some of best teams and players from a State, Regional and National perspective.
