Vaughn represents Ohio on ODP National team at Dallas Cup

Ohio Olympic Development Program (ODP) player Shelby Vaughn (2005, North FC) was in Texas this week to participate in the prestigious Dallas Cup after receiving the call-up to the 2005 Girls ODP National team. Vaughn, who will play collegiality at Michigan State University, is one of 16 players from around the country selected to the national team in her age group.

Each selected player has moved through the different phases of the ODP program in their state, and often over the course of multiple seasons. Vaughn, for example, has participated in ODP for several years, which has seen her progress from her local district team to state and regional teams, and now to the national stage.

Kickoff at the Cup

The Dallas Cup is one of the largest international tournaments in the world and takes place in April every year. Youth teams from around the globe are invited to attend. This year, the ODP national teams were selected to participate.

“Playing with ODP at Dallas Cup has been an amazing experience. I had the chance to meet girls from all over the country and make new memories,” says Vaughn. “It has made me a better player and has shown me new aspects of the game.”
