MAINEVILLE, Ohio (January 25, 2023) – Ohio Soccer Association (OSA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with BAND, the ultimate communication app for busy club/league leaders and coaches who want to easily manage their teams with just one app.
The free app provides teams with the tools they need to communicate more effectively, including group messaging, calendars, photo/video sharing, polls, and live streaming. BAND is also the communication app of choice with the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), National Parent Teacher Association (National PTA), and Varsity Spirit.
“Our goal in partnering with BAND was to help provide a platform for our member leagues, clubs, and teams that elevates the standard when it comes to communicating effectively,” said Gordon Henderson, OSA CEO. “There are many various team apps used in the youth sports space, but BAND is different. It was designed specifically for communication and not solely for sports. We were impressed with how BAND keeps everything in one place. Information is carried in and out in the same direction. Images and documents can be sent to an entire team, or select individuals, with ease. We have already started using BAND in our offices and have been very happy with it.”
The BAND app has a wide range of functionality, including but not limited to scheduling posts, sending documents, sharing photos and videos, and setting admin-only capabilities and notifications. Another advantage of BAND is that group admins can see who has viewed their post — a feature coaches love for improved accountability.

BAND will be used as a main communication channel during the 2023 Cup Series as well as the remainder of the 2022-23 ODP season.
Leadership from BAND will be on-site at the annual OSA Workshop on February 25 in Dayton to provide more information regarding the app, its many uses, and how to get started.
FAQ
No. The best way to onboard teams & staff with BAND is to send an invite via email or text message. Inviting with a bulk upload (uploading a spreadsheet with emails / names) will become available in the next few months, but before then, they need to use invite link / QR code to get their teams on BAND.
Per club directors’ request, BAND is happy to host a webinar / Zoom session to introduce BAND and its features to you.
BAND is a free and secure service many leading brands are working with. They can offer their service for free because they place non-intrusive ads on the app. They do not display ads to users under 18 years old.
There is no cost to use BAND.
You can create up to 200 groups. If you are a club director who oversees multiple teams, we suggest creating one BAND group per team to direct your messages to the right team.
There’s no limit – you can have as many members as you want!
Yes! BAND offers group training sessions for clubs and leagues. If you are a club/league staff member, please send an email to thebandapp@navercorp.com to schedule a session. Please invite as many coaches as you want to the session to make it count!
